The artist

Self-
taught

Self-taught painter based in the Pikes Peak region of Colorado. Jake started painting in May 2024. He works most frequently in acrylics and ink, influenced by Van Gogh, Picasso, Twombly, Basquiat and David Choe.

He paints from his studio in Pike National Forest.

He’s a self-taught engineer too. He built samo, a home audio system for music, radio, podcasts and audiobooks, with its own server and apps. The lowercase name is a nod to Basquiat and Al Diaz.
